State Tournament

The 2021 Montana State Senior Golf Tournament will be August 3-5 in Butte-Anaconda. The tournament is the largest state tournament in Montana, annually attracting about 330 golfers, playing some of the finest courses in the state.

This year, participants will play Butte Country Club, Fairmont and Old Works. Golfers will play in sections based on handicaps, rotating through the courses over the three-day tournament.

The Montana State Senior Golf Tournament competition is set by handicap and age. Age Groups are:
Freshman — 55 to 62
Sophomore — 63 to 69
Junior — 70 to 77
Senior — 78 and up

Flights are established in each age group, based on handicaps. This arrangement provides every golfer an opportunity to compete against his peers.

The overall State Champion is determined by stroke play, regardless of the age group or flight.

Players in the Senior Age Group play from forward tees.
